Castle Grayskull from Matty Collector, One Time Deal.

Above this text is the initial rough rendering of the proposed MOTUC Castle Grayskull up for pre-order. It is big, it is expensive, and it is going to be awesome. Now many of you have previously read my post on falling out of love with MOTUC where I gave you my 2 cents on the line and I stand by that. This is not a figure though this is a PLAYSET! A big ass playset in scale with the MOTUC toys, so yeah it is going to (maybe) be one hell of a fun piece.

So lets get to brass tacks shall we? This post is to urge you if you are on the fence about pre-ordering this bad boy to bite the bullet and get in line for this thing. The pre-order ends tonight 11/12 a midnight and if the "special number" of pre-orders is not met well this thing will be forever a dream. Also remember you dont pay now, no you pay when it gets made and ready to ship late next year so you do have time to save some change you found on the car floor, couch cushions, and bottom of your bag.

Why will it be awesome? Well...
• Sculpted by the Four Horsemen, and they are not known for bad work.
• It is a PLAYSET and we don't see many of them any more, especially not ones this great.
• It is limited so if you get one you are automatically cooler than your friends.
• Trap doors, secret orbs, drawbridge, Wind Raider dock, it has a lot of cool little things built in.
• Castle Grayskull!

Interested? Want to get that pre-order in? Let me link you my friend.

UPDATE: Pre-Order number has been met and Castle Grayskull will go into production!

  1. Man, I wish you hadn't mentioned the "you don't have to pay now" thing, because I'm really tempted.

It would be an interesting purchase for me, because I totally missed the boat on MOTU as a kid, and I've had to watch as other bloggers and nostalgic folks talk about the toys and stuff, and I wish I had grown up on it. Obviously Grayskull is super iconic, and the idea of a big, awesome playset is tempting even though I don't have any MOTU figures.

  2. I was on the fence for a long while but considering this thing may not be made without enough pre-orders I had to go for it. I got into MOTU as a kid through VHS tapes and a bunch of cool garage sale toys I loved since the animated series ended when I was a newborn.

Let me know if you end up pre-ordering!

  3. Have they at least made a prototype or is the art all we have to go on?

  4. No prototype just the art unfortunately. Originally a turn off for me but when I thought about the Four Horsemen doing the sculpt I had more confidence that the end result would be good.
